38-year-old Leroy Macon was charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon after firing a handgun into the air when workers attempted to repossess a vehicle from his property.
On July 17th, officers responded to a call about shots fired at 639 Baltic Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke to Gary Parrish who recounted that he and another employee had come to the property to repossess a vehicle. During the repossession of the vehicle, Leroy Macon exited his home with a handgun and fired several shots into the air. The employee accompanying him fled with the vehicle to be repossessed, and Parris stayed behind to contact the police.
After Parris identified Leroy Macon as the one who fired shots, police moved in to make an arrest. While detaining Macon he admitted to firing six shots into the air to “scare the driver away” and advised officers where the weapon was located. Officers were able to retrieve a 9mm Taurus from behind a silver dryer in a shed behind the house.
Leroy Macon was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $25,000.
