When officers spoke with Johnson he claimed the injuries were from when they were wrestling earlier that morning but admitted there was an argument that took place about car parts. He said that Perry assaulted him and any injury she sustained was from Johnson defending himself. Officers also observed scratches on Johnson’s face and ear. They were unable to determine a primary aggressor and took both parties involved into custody. The three children were left in the care of the paternal grandmother.

Rhia Perry was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily harm. Her bond was set at $2,000. The case was later dismissed.
