Man points gun at granddaughter and says, “I will kill your a**”

65-year-old Eugene Bateman was charged with aggravated assault after threatening his granddaughter’s life with a long gun during an argument with his partner.

On November 7th, Memphis Police Officers Pittman and House were dispatched to the residence of 1516 Merlin in response to a disturbance call. Upon arrival, contact was made with Raven Turner who stated her grandfather, Eugene Bateman, and her grandmother had got into an argument.

Raven stated that when she went to break it up. Eugene grabbed one of his guns and pointed it at her and said: ” I will kill your ass.” Turner retreated then called the police and stated she was in fear for her life. Eugene was taken into custody and officers later recovered a shotgun and a rifle.

Eugene Bateman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He was released on his own recognizance.
