Thief charged after using battery saw to steal catalytic converters

42-year-old Nathan Shivers was charged with vandalism and theft after he was seen on security cameras stealing auto parts from underneath multiple cars in a lot.

On November 6th, Memphis Police Officers Brown, Moretta, and Cordova arrived at A & H Auto Sales, located at 1665 East Brooks Road, in response to a theft call. The business owner, referred to as Gabriel, reported his surveillance cameras caught a male with dark clothes cutting catalytic converters from a black Nissan Maxima and a silver Cadillac.

Upon arrival, Officer Cordova stated Shivers was hiding between two cars and began running through the parking lot towards officers Moretta and Brown. It was also noted Gabriel made the scene later and identified Shivers as the culprit caught by his security cameras.

Nathan Shivers was arrested and charged with vandalism and theft. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
