Woman charged after attacking girlfriend with broom, per report

25-year-old Mercedez Neal was charged with domestic assault after she pushed her girlfriend’s head against a car and hit her with a broom for having her phone turned off, per report.

On November 18th, Memphis Police Officers Brown and Dermyer arrived at the residence of Mercedez Neal, located at 42 East Dempster Avenue, in response to a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, Angel London advised that she and her girlfriend, Mercedez Neal, got into an argument about Mercedez’s cell phone being turned off.

She stated that Mercedez pushed her head against the car and hit her on her back three times with a broom. The police were informed that the women lived together and that Mercedez took Angel’s black Cadillac ATS prior to their arrival. The vehicle was tracked and Officers Pittman and Stachowski stopped Mercedez and returned Angel’s car.

Mercedez Neal was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $1,500 bond.
