Clerk at Brothers Food Market pistol-whips customer over ripped $20 bill

31-year-old Thuizan Ali was charged with aggravated assault after he pistol-whipped a customer at Brothers Food Market over a ripped $20 bill.

On August 29th, Christopher Banks made a report with the Memphis Police Department advising that he was assaulted at the Brothers Food Market located at 2157 E. Alcy. Banks advised he was trying to get his ripped $20 bill taped when the clerk, Walid Aldafari, got mad and upset with him. Banks stated when he tried exiting the business, the front door was locked at which time Walid Aldafari pistol-whipped him on the left side of his head causing him to fall on the ground.

Banks went on stating at that time the other store clerk Thuizan Ali known as “T”, jumped over the counter beginning to hit him with his gun in his head. Finally, Banks stated at that time Thuizan Ali held him down while Aldafari began to punch him in the nose. Ali and Aldafri then allowed Banks to leave with their guns pointing at him stating “Yeah, we will kill you and don’t come back.”

On September 4th, Thuizan Ali was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He was later released on his own recognizance.
