Man assaults girlfriend for the second time in three months

22-year-old Cordarris Jackson was charged with domestic assault after he punched his girlfriend in the face and stomach during an argument about him using her phone.

On November 11th, Memphis Police Officer Mathis arrived at the Peppertree Apartments located at 4333 Graceland Drive in response to a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, Zaria Thomas advised she got into an argument with her boyfriend, Cordarris Jackson. She stated she allowed him to use her phone but then they began arguing over him using it.

She reported that Cordarris grabbed her around her torso and punched her in the face. She said when she screamed for help, no one came and Cordarris started punching her in her stomach. According to the affidavit, Zaria was able to get away and flag down Nakeshia Buckley in the breezeway of the apartments, yelling “he hit me, help me!” Nakeshia then proceeded to let her use her phone to call the police. Through further investigation, it was revealed that Cordarris had two previous domestic assault cases, dated May 2019 and August 2020, with Zaria Thomas listed as the victim.

Cordarris Jackson was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was released on a $1,000 bond.
