Ja’mia Estell illegally sells alcoholic beverages with minor present

On April 20th, 21-year-old Ja’mia Estell was caught selling alcohol illegally in a parking lot near South Main Street. When officers made contact with Estell, she admitted to selling beverages that contained alcohol. Estell was with a juvenile as well on the scene and was unable to provide a permit or paperwork for the sale of alcohol. After verifying Estell’s identity, she was found to have a warrant for theft of property and was placed into custody. Jakaisha Lucas, who was also with Estell, refused to obey officers’ commands and was also placed in custody. Estell was taken into custody for contributing to the delinquency of a child and unlawful sale of an alcoholic beverage

18-year-old Jerry Lawhorn was charged with theft, assault, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after he stole packages from houses with his juvenile brother and shot someone with a BB gun.

46-year-old Vernie Fifer was charged with aggravated statutory rape, possession of marijuana, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor when the victim’s mother reported to police that he was having sexual relations with and providing alcohol and marijuana to her 15-year-old daughter.
