Shawna Harris steals $140 worth of makeup from CVS

35-year-old Shawna Harris was caught shoplifting at the CVS on Union Avenue on May 22nd. An employee Cortez Wells, contacted law enforcement, stating that he believed a shoplifter was inside the store. Wells informed officers that Harris entered the store with what looked like an empty black handbag. While Harris was inside the store, her bag grew increasingly larger throughout her stay. When officers arrived, they confronted Harris at the register and asked her about her purse and asked, “Will you please show me the contents of your purse?” When Harris handed Officer Dorado her purse, he found various beauty cosmetics in brand-new condition with CVS seals. The items found in Harris’s purse were valued at $139.89. Shawna Harris was taken into custody and charged with theft of property.

Sarah Benson drives stolen Chevy Cavalier, multiple warrants for her arrest

On November 22nd, 2023, 30-year-old Sarah Benson was seen obstructing traffic in a 2004 Chevy Cavalier at the Leath Street and Saffrans Avenue intersection. Officers observed this and ran the tag on the vehicle, which returned stolen. Officers conducted a traffic stop and detained the passenger, Janice Freeman and Benson, who was the driver. Benson was found to have a suspended license, no insurance, and misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. She was then taken into custody and charged with obstructing a highway, violating vehicle registration, driving with a suspended license, and using stolen vehicle license plates on May 11th, 2024.

Michelle Ware steals $154 worth of body wash from Walgreens

MICHELLE WARE FEAT

42-year-old Michelle Ware was caught shoplifting at the Walgreens on Union Avenue on May 13th. An employee at Walgreens, Roy Washington, told officers that he observed Ware take $154 worth of body wash and then leave without paying. Michelle Ware was taken into custody and charged with theft of property.

Dameka Moore steals $1,073 worth of items from Walmart

DAMEKA MOORE FEAT

30-year-old Dameka Moore was seen shoplifting at the Walmart on Elvis Presley Boulevard on May 8th. Walmart employee Chardai Smith told law enforcement they observed three females stuffing items in their tote bags and then going to the self-checkout for a receipt. Smith said the females then ran to a brown Nissan Altima and loaded the items into the vehicle. The items stolen amounted to $1,073. On May 9th, officers ran the tag for the 2013 brown Nissan Altima and found that the car’s owner was Dameka Moore. When officers reviewed the surveillance footage, they discovered that one of the females was also Moore. Dameka Moore was taken into custody and charged with property theft on May 21st.

Dayisha Miller steals $40 worth of merchandise from Walgreens

20-year-old Dayisha Miller was seen shoplifting from a Walgreens near Union Drive on April 27th. When officers spoke with Kelly Torry, the night manager of Walgreens, she stated that she noticed two black females stuffing items into their purses and gift bags and walking out of the store without paying. Torry then stated that the two females entered a black SUV and pulled off. Officers found the vehicle in the parking lot near Union Drive, watched them exit the vehicle, and detained them both. Officers then located the stolen items from the Walgreens inside the SUV and identified Raneisha Tribble and Dayisha Miller before taking them back to Walgreens, where Torry confirmed they were responsible. The items stolen were returned and valued at $40.79. Miller was taken into custody for theft of merchandise. 

Jessica Tackett assaults man after he threatened to kick her door down

26-year-old Jessica Tackett was involved in a domestic incident with Jimal Williams at their Meadowlake Drive residence on April 26th. When officers arrived on the scene, Tackett stated that Williams attempted to come into contact with her and claimed that Williams told her he was going to kick her door down while she was away. Tackett also claimed that when she arrived, she noticed Williams at the front door, and as he walked toward the vehicle, she got out to confront him.

Williams then slapped her phone out of her hand, beginning the physical altercation. She also stated that Williams punched her but did not know how many times. Officers then spoke with Williams, who stated that he approached Tackett and grabbed his keys from her when she arrived. Williams then stated that Tackett pulled his hair while he tried to grab the keys. Officers reviewed the footage, noticing them pushing and throwing strikes at each other. Officers proceeded to detain both. Both parties were then taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Akira Campbell steals $1716 worth of merchandise from Target with two accomplices

23-year-old Akira Campbell was caught stealing by officers at a Target near Colonial Road on April 26th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Norman Smith, who claimed that he had seen three females, Christina Campbell, Akira Campbell, and Mahogany Johnson, loading things up and getting prepared to leave. He also stated that he saw Christina loading up merchandise and leaving early, acting as a lookout. Smith claims that after Christina left, Johnson and Akira fled the store with the merchandise, placing items in a tan Buick before driving away.

Officers in the area were advised they were driving the vehicle and initiating a traffic stop. When officers made contact with the vehicle, they immediately noticed new baby clothes and various items in Akira’s lap, who was in the passenger’s seat. Christina, the vehicle owner, was in the backseat of the vehicle, and Johnson was the driver. Officers detained all three women and proceeded to search the trunk of the vehicle, in which they located a large number of baby clothes and items valued at $1716.66.

Upon arrival at the station, Christina refused to answer questions pertaining to the theft but stated she owned the vehicle that was used for the theft. Akira stated that she didn’t remember the crime happening and didn’t do anything. Johnson admitted to the theft and stated that she, Akira, and Christina entered the store, gathered numerous items, and fled without paying.

Cynthia Money attempts to steal from Nordstrom Rack, caught hiding under dumpster

34-year-old Cynthia Money was caught shoplifting in a store on Poplar Avenue on March 21st. When officers arrived, they spoke with Timothy Ross, who advised Money was shoplifting out of the Nordstrom Rack business. Ross stated that Money stuffed all the items into her purse, and when she tried to walk out, he attempted to stop her. Money then started fighting back against him. Ross claimed that as he was fighting Money, Brandon Blaylock, another suspect, started running towards him, allowing Money to escape. Ross was able to grab Money’s keys and her purse before she took off running. As officers were checking the vehicle, they were approached by Blaylock, who stated he was waiting in the car when Money went inside the store. Officers searched the area where Money was last seen and located her underneath a dumpster behind an eyewear store Near Perkins Exit. Officers searched Money’s car for additional items and found multiple drug paraphernalia. Money was taken into custody and charged with theft and drug paraphernalia.
