Dice game gamblers crap out, earn charges on Baltimore Street

33-year-old Darnell Boyd was charged with gambling promotion and disorderly conduct when he and another male were caught in a dice game on a front porch of a residence on Baltimore Street.

On May 24th, the Memphis Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit (OCU) observed Boyd and Martaz Paige playing a dice game involving money at 689 Baltimore Street. OCU found a pair of dice and cash on the porch where the game took place.

Martaz Paige was given a citation for his involvement and forfeited the $1,285 in cash in his possession. Boyd claimed his name was Donnell Boyd, who has a different birthdate and physical description. He refused to give fingerprints, made a scene during booking and was cited after extracting his prints.

Darnell Boyd was arrested and charged with gambling promotion and disorderly conduct. He was later released on his own recognizance.
