Stolen Glock and marijuana found during traffic stop on N. Watkins

26-year-old Romedarrius Humphrey was charged with theft, simple possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a weapon after being recognized by deputies at a traffic stop.

On September 2nd, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies Foster and Bramlett stopped a black Dodge Challenger on North Watkins south of Kingsway with no tag information displayed. During the stop, police made contact with the driver, Romedarrius Humphrey, who provided his social security number. A check of his social revealed he was driving on a suspended license. The deputies could also smell the scent of marijuana coming from the car. Humphrey was detained and his person and vehicle were searched.

A search of his person uncovered a dollar bill with a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana in his left shoe. Prior to the search, Humphrey alerted the deputies to a handgun in the car that belonged to him. A search of the vehicle yielded the Glock 48 loaded with ten 9mm rounds and an empty 60 round 5.56 magazine. A check of the Glock’s serial number revealed to deputies that the handgun was stolen. Romedarrius Humphrey was taken into custody.

Romedarrius Humphrey was arrested and charged with simple possession of marijuana, theft under $1,000, and unlawful possession of a firearm. His bond was set at $1,000.
