35-year-old Crystal Thompson was caught stealing merchandise from Walgreens on Knight Arnold Road in the early hours of April 20th. Upon arrival, officers observed Thompson being escorted out of the establishment, eating a bag of chips and drinking coconut water. Officers later discovered that the items were not paid for. Then, the police spoke with Jasmine Daniels, the shift lead manager of Walgreens. Daniels advised them that Thompson had entered the store, filled a basket with various items, and began eating some of the items while walking around. Then, Daniels informed other employees and asked Thompson to check out her basket. During which Thompson told the employees that she lost her debit card in the store and was going to look for it. When she walked away, she started picking up more items and eating them. Then, Daniels had Thompson escorted out of the business. Thompson was taken into custody for theft.
Crystal Thompson was booked into the Shelby County Jail on April 20th, charged with theft of property. She was released on her own recognizance.
