40-year-old Nimo Mohamud had a domestic altercation with her daughter, Najmo Mohamud, at their Looney Avenue residence around 2:47 p.m. on May 20th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Najmo, who stated that her parents, Nimo and Liban Jama, were arguing when Nimo started attacking her. Najmo stated that Nimo began scratching her arms and legs, leaving minor, visible lacerations. Then, Najmo said she ran away from home and called the police from a McDavitt Place residence. Nimo told police that she was trying to calm Najmo down after she started fighting, which Jama corroborated, adding that he witnessed Nimo scratch her. Nimo Mohamud was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Nimo Mohamud of Looney Avenue Memphis, TN, was booked into the Shelby County Jail on May20th, charged with domestic assault. A judicial commissioner set her bond at $3,500.
