NIA CALHOUN FEAT

41-year-old Niazuri Calhoun was caught stealing from Walgreens near Park Avenue on May 7th. Employees of Walgreens called officers to report a suspicious person. They stated that a female took several items from the shelf and put them in a black bag before walking out. When officers arrived, they spoke with the manager, who pointed out Calhoun’s vehicle as it was leaving. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the car and made contact with Calhoun, who was in the vehicle’s passenger seat. Officers proceeded to detain her and took her back to Walgreens. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the store manager, Anthony Stoke, who stated he saw Calhoun enter the business, walk down numerous aisles, and put things in her bag. Stoke also claims he confronted Calhoun as he observed her taking a nail cosmetic pack and putting it in her bag. Stoke also notes that proceeding this, he asked Calhoun to leave, which she did, but the rest of the items were in her purse. Officers searched Calhoun’s bag, locating two bottles of nail polish, a can of bug spray, and a bottle of Shea moisture hair cream, valued at $65.13. Calhoun also had a misdemeanor for the same thing earlier in the day. Calhoun was then taken into custody for theft.
