Happy lady says “please don’t tow my car” then charged with stealing it

28-year-old Brianna Schweiger was charged with theft of property and possession of meth with intent after she pleaded with officers to not tow a stolen car she was driving.

On March 11th, Memphis police officers were patrolling and scanning license plates in the area of Exchange Avenue and Fourth Street. A hit was returned on a 2014 Ford Focus that was reported stolen on March 5th in Horn Lake, Mississippi by owner Luis Tudon. According to the affidavit, officers were waiting for towing service when Brianna Schweiger made contact with them by making the statement “please don’t tow my car”.

Brianna claimed the 2014 Ford Focus valued at $1,818 was borrowed from a friend so that she could attend a court date. Upon inspection before towing the car, officers discovered a small plastic bag that contained 1.1 grams of methamphetamine in the driver’s seat. Brianna also denied knowledge of this.

Brianna Schweiger was arrested and charged with theft of property and possession of methamphetamine with intent. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
