31-year-old Canieya Jones was charged with domestic assault after she entered her boyfriend’s residence in the early morning hours and proceeded to wake him up by wailing on him.
On March 12th, Deputies Wilson, Aldridge, Taylor, and Galloway responded to a simple assault call at an apartment on Waterford Circle.
Deputies spoke to Brandon Payne, who stated that his girlfriend came into his home intoxicated and went into his bedroom. He explained that he had given Canieya a key to his apartment and that’s what she used to gain entry. After entering his bedroom, Canieya began to physically assault him while he was sleeping.
During the fracas, Brandon stated he pushed her away in self-defense, causing Canieya to fall and cut her chin on the bedpost. Deputies noted their observation of scratches on Brandon’s shoulder and the cut on Canieya’s chin.
Caneiya Jones was arrested and charged with domestic assault. She was later released on her own recognizance.
