Woman hits boyfriend with toilet seat; both charged with assault

60-year-old Steve Allen was charged with domestic assault and 53-year-old Teresa Wallace was charged with domestic assault, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia after getting into a fight involving a toilet seat.

On March 11th, Steve Allen called to report he was robbed by a female. While on the call, dispatch was able to hear a female yelling and threatening to assault and kill him. When officers arrived at the Regal Inn on South Third Street, they observed both Steve and Teresa Wallace outside of Room 107 being disorderly. Steve and Teresa both told officers they were smoking crack together in the room and began arguing about suspecting each other of stealing money and bank cards from each other. The argument quickly turned physical.

Steve told officers he suspected Teresa had taken his money. When he asked her about it, she attacked him and started hitting him with a toilet seat. Officers noted that Steve refused medical treatment at that time.

Teresa told officers that Steve had accused her of stealing his money and dope. When she denied it, Steve got very angry and starting choking her and threw her into the wall. When this happened, Teresa said she grabbed a toilet seat and broke it inside the room but never actually hit Steve with it. Officers noted that Teresa had a small abrasion on her left hand and refused any medical treatment at that time.

Steve Allen and Teresa Wallace were both arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on his own recognizance. Her bond was set at $500.

According to the affidavit, officers conducted an incident to arrest search of a black purse that Teresa admitted belonging to her. While searching, Officer Carruthers found a substance believed to be marijuana and a glass pipe with copper wiring. The substance tested positive for THC.

Teresa Wallace was additionally charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. These charges were later dismissed.
