Memphis man assaults mother and sister; caught with cocaine during booking

38-year-old Andre Woodland was charged with domestic assault, possession of cocaine, and possession of contraband in a penal institution after he threatened to slash his mother’s tires, he repeatedly punched his sister in the face and side, and tried to hit his niece. While in booking, he was found to be in possession of cocaine.

On May 13th, Officers were told by the defendant’s mother, Wanda Johnson, that her son, defendant, Andre Woodland, said that he would slash her tires and do something to her if she called the police. She also said that he slapped her phone out of her hand then said that he hit her daughter, Crystal Moffet, his sister in the face approximately seven times and in her side three times with his fist.

Woodland also tried to hit Kim’niya Fulton, his niece but missed. He was placed into custody and transported to 201 Poplar Avenue. Neither he nor the victims needed medical attention. When being searched in booking officers found a twenty dollar bill with positively tested cocaine on it.

Andre Woodland was arrested and charged with domestic assault, possession of cocaine, and possession of contraband in a penal institution. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $7,500 bond.
