Memphis mother of two wrecks car with children inside

30-year-old Lashundra Pittman was charged with reckless driving, possession of marijuana, DUI/child endangerment, open container law, driving while license revoked, public intoxication, violation of financial law after an accident was reported involving Lashundra Pittman and her two children.

On April 28th, officers were called to an accident on I-40 near Germantown Parkway. Upon arrival, officers found a burgundy Saturn Ion 100 feet off the right side of the roadway in a ditch after responding to a call for an accident. When asked, Lashundra Pittman informed officers the accident only involved them, that no one was injured, and she had no idea how the accident happened.

After the police observed an empty Corona bottle in the front cup holder she produced a baggie of marijuana. Officers noted that Lashundra had bloodshot watery eyes and mumbled speech. Officers administered a field sobriety test and failed both, according to the affidavit. Lashundra was unable to produce any financial responsibility for the vehicle as well.

Police also found that her license had been revoked in 2011. DCS was contacted for the children, which Lashundra called her mother to come and retrieve the children, which she did. Lashundra was transported to Regional One for medical clearance before she was booked in Jail East.

Lashundra Pittman was arrested and charged with reckless driving, possession of marijuana, DUI/child endangerment, open container law, driving while license revoked, public intoxication, violation of financial law. She was later released on her own recognizance.
