35-year-old Jessica Ray was charged with assault for screaming racial slurs at officers then punching one in the face.
On May 13th, Officer Cox arrived at 1236 Madison Avenue for a simple assault report. When the officers arrived at the scene they made contact with Jessica Ray, the defendant, who was irate and yelling racial slurs at them. They said that they could smell the odor of intoxicants on Ray.
As the officers were exiting the foyer, Ray hit Officer Morris on the right side of his face. Officer Morris then pushed her to the ground and placed her into custody. His PDA was damaged during the arrest.
Jessica Ray was arrested and charged with assault. Her bond was set at $1,000.
