36-year-old Crystal Johnson was charged with vehicle burglary, theft of property, and vandalism when a man found her in his vehicle. The victim was in the process of filing a report because the vehicle had been broken into the day prior.
On May 4th, a prowler was reported at the Deluxe Inn on 3733 Jackson Avenue by Courtney Beard. According to the affidavit, Beard told officers that the day prior his vehicle’s window had been smashed and a $1,200 global positioning unit had been stolen.
The thief cleaned up their mess but had left behind a green hat. When officers investigated on the 4th, they discovered Crystal Johnson and Hector Miranda in the vehicle.
Crystal Johnson was arrested and charged with motor vehicle burglary, theft of property, and vandalism. She was later released on her own recognizance.
