Woman tries to run over her aunt and stab her with a kitchen knife

20-year-old Caurniesha Stephens was charged with vandalism and aggravated assault when her aunt told officers Stephens threw a brick through a door, tried to hit her with a car, and came at her with a knife screaming and threatening to kill her.

On May 28th, Tamika McKinney reported her niece Caurniesha Stephens to the Memphis Police Department for busting up her front door. According to the affidavit, Stephens came to the home to fight Franchesca Hale. When the aunt wouldn’t let her in, Stephens lobbed a brick through the front door and fled. The estimated cost to replace the door is $400.

On May 29th, MPD officers were called to 2783 Range Line in regard to an assault. According to another affidavit, the aunt advised Stephens had driven her car into the yard in an attempt to hit her. After this, Stephens jumped out with a kitchen knife screaming and threatening to kill her aunt. She again broke out the glass in the front door, as well as a window, and then rammed her aunt’s Impala before fleeing. Tamika McKinney mentioned to officers that she hasn’t spoken to Caurneisha in months and has no idea what the motivation was for the attacks.

On June 15th, Caurniesha Stephens was arrested and charged with vandalism and aggravated assault. She is jailed in lieu of a $5,100 bond.
