20-year-old Gianni Byrd was charged with domestic assault when he became upset with his girlfriend, punched her in the neck, and broke her cell phone.
On July 17th, Officer Crocker responded to a simple assault at 3406 East Briarpark Drive. The victim, Kiera Kitchen, claimed to be involved in an argument with her boyfriend Gianni Byrd. She also reported that he became angry, then punched her in the back of her neck and broke her cell phone.
The reporting officer arrived on the scene and observed the suspect on top of the victim’s Chevrolet TrailBlazer. Byrd was then apprehended and transported to 201 Poplar for booking and processing.
Gianni Byrd was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on his own recognizance.
