Theodore was on the job delivering food accompanied by an ex-girlfriend, Sylvia Ray, when the arguing started. The victim said that Ray then ripped off the vehicle’s rearview mirror. While en route to another delivery destination, Ray allegedly threatened that she would “kill him”. Then Brailsford told the deputies that she climbed into the backseat and started stabbing the vehicle with scissors while continuing to make threats.

Theodore then stopped the car in the parking lot of 1045 Mullins Station and called 911. Ray had left before deputies arrived. The deputies had observed the damages to the car and also included abrasions to the victims back. When Deputies searched the area they found Sylvia walking nearby with the same scissors used to damage the vehicle. Based on the evidence they suspected her to be the primary aggressor. They then delivered her to Shelby County Sherriff Office Jail East.

Sylvia Ray was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism. Her bond was set at $1,000.
