26-year-old Ferlundo Divine was charged with vandalism and aggravated assault when he attempted to break into his ex-girlfriend’s house after an argument attacking her multiple times and throwing her infant children to the ground.

On September 18th, Memphis Police Officers Martin, Mackey, and Gilliam were dispatched to 4182 Kostka Park Drive regarding a domestic situation. The officers arrived to find Ferlundo Divine visibly frustrated on the couch. He slapped, punched, and slammed the top of her head before ransacking the interior of the residence. Martin ran upstairs to her room and hid with her two infant children, but Divine followed her and struck her in the temple knocking her unconscious. He also flipped her and the babies out of the bed while snatching sheets looking for her cellphone. When Martin came to she was on the floor with both children and lying on top of her infant son, so she picked up both of her children and headed to the living room.

There she found Divine who attacked her once more even though she was holding her babies. Martin said that he punched her in the face and got behind her to place her in a chokehold, again rendering her unconscious. This time she opened her eyes to find Divine sitting on the couch with the children next to him. She was then able to sneak to her cellphone and text her sister to call the police. The police reported that there were no injuries to the infants but Martin had swelling on her face and neck.

Ferlundo Divine was arrested and charged with vandalism and aggravated assault. His bond was set at $5,000.
