Fugitive found passed out behind the wheel with several narcotics in vehicle

39-year-old Juanita Barber was charged with possession with intent to sell buprenorphine, MDMA, oxycodone, alprazolam, and ecstasy after she was found unconscious with a green pill stuck to her forearm.

On September 4th, Shelby County Officers Kent and Kelly arrived at 3255 Frayser View Drive in response to a man down call. Officer Kelly found Juanita Barber unconscious in the front seat of a white Hyundai Elantra. When she was awakened, Barber responded but was obviously confused. Officer Kent saw a small green pill stuck to Barber’s right forearm, took it off, and had Barber step out of her vehicle. When she got out, the officers found another green pill, two small pieces of a yellow pill, and a purple container with more pills in Barber’s seat.

During a further search of the vehicle, sealed packages of buprenorphine-naloxone were found with Barber’s state ID. At this time, it was found that Barber had active warrants for felony narcotics charges. The total of what they found included: five packages of buprenorphine, eight green round pills identified as Oxycodone, ten yellow rectangular pills identified as alprazolam, and five multicolor MDMA pills. Barber was unable to produce a valid prescription and was taken into custody.

Juanita Barber was arrested and charged with possession of buprenorphine, MDMA, oxycodone, alprazolam, and ecstasy. Her bond of $40,000 was posted.
