Man arrested after seen smoking marijuana; search of vehicle produced 13 ecstasy pills and a handgun

28-year-old Jamal Bey was charged with possession of ecstasy and marijuana, paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm during a felony after detectives saw him smoking marijuana in the Blow Hookah Lounge parking lot.

On September 18th, Shelby County Detective Isabel, as well as, a few Vice Detectives responded to a complaint in the parking lot of Blow Hookah Lounge located at 815 Exocet Drive. The detectives were doing surveillance of a large crowd in the parking lot, when they observed a group of black males smoking marijuana on the lot. They approached a silver Chevy Tahoe and made contact with Jamal Bey.

Detective Isabel watched Bey exit the vehicle with a bag of marijuana and placed him into custody for possession. During a search of his vehicle detectives located a black digital scale, more marijuana, a blunt, and 13 multicolored pills. The total gross weight of the marijuana was 14 grams. The multicolored pills tested positive for MDMA. Detectives also recovered an OD green and black handgun in the center console of the vehicle.

Jamal Bey was arrested and charged with possession of ecstasy with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm while committing a felony. His bond was set at $5,000.
