Woman grabbed gun and money from ex-lover’s vehicle; witness saw her fire into air & threaten him

31-year-old Alexis Howard was charged with aggravated assault after a witness saw her fire a shot into the air and threaten to shoot her child’s father if he came near her.

On September 19th, Memphis Police Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at 3769 St. Elmo Avenue. Anthony Patterson reported his child’s mother, Alexis Howard, fired a shot in the air before threatening him with the gun. Patterson stated he was involved in a verbal altercation with Howard and snatched a necklace that he purchased off her neck. According to Patterson, she went to his vehicle, retrieving his handgun and money.

A witness explained he observed Patterson and Howard arguing and she was holding a gun in her hand along with some money. The witness said Howard fired a shot in the air and threatened she would shoot Patterson if he comes near her. Howard told officers that Patterson hit her in the face before she retrieved her gun. She admitted to having the weapon but denied shooting. Howard signed consent to search for 3769 Street Elmo. Officers recovered a shell casing and a handgun on the scene.

Alexis Howard was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and her bond was set at $25,000.
