Man tells girlfriend he’s going to kill them both during fight on the road

29-year-old Roregis Garrett was charged with domestic assault after his girlfriend stopped officers at an intersection during a fight with him and told them he was hitting her.

On September 1st, Officers Holifield and Kelly stopped at the intersection of Range Line Road and Whitney Avenue when Gloria Walker flagged them down and told them her boyfriend, Roregis Garrett, punched her in the face several times. Walker elaborated by telling police she was driving with Garrett in the passenger seat.

Walker claimed that Garrett was upset at her because she wouldn’t take him to the store to buy alcohol. She says that it was at that time Garrett started punching her in the face and hitting on her vehicle’s radio. Walker elbowed Garrett in an attempt to get him to stop, but Garrett threatened that he was going to kill them both while she was driving. Walker told police that the only reason the fight stopped was that the officers were stopped beside them in front of the light. Garrett’s version of events included the two arguing over a discussion earlier that day, and that he only punched Walker because she hit him first.

Roregis Garrett was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
