Disorderly drunk man yanks door and yells at the Silly Goose Bar

32-year-old Xavier Murray was charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication when he yelled at a bar owner and yanked the door until he broke it.

On October 11th, Memphis Police Officer Andrae Goodman observed an upset man yelling at the owner of the Silly Goose Bar located at 100 Peabody Place. The owner stated to the officers that the man identified as Xavier Murray had been yanking on the front door, causing a disturbance. Officer Goodman noted that the front door of the business was broken and would not lock after Murray yanked on it.

Officers made several attempts to calm Murray down but he was heavily intoxicated and unfit to be left alone for his own safety. Murray was transferred to Memphis Mental Health Institute at 951 Court to be detoxed but was refused so he was transferred to 201 Popular.

Xavier Murray was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication. He was released on his own recognizance.
