63-year-old June Schwager was charged with domestic assault when she hit her daughter with a broom for not showing her respect.
On September 28th, Shelby County Deputies Stewart and Earnest responded to an assault call located at 3025 Ward Road in Millington, TN. When deputies arrived, they spoke to Megan Schwager about her mother who was talking down to her and began an argument. June Schwager, the mother of the victim, grabbed a broom, and hit Megan in the right collar bone with the soft side of the broom.
Deputies then interviewed June, who said she let her Megan live inside the home with her. June stated that she was irritated that her daughter for not showing her respect. She admitted to the deputies that she hit Megan with the broom. Pictures of the injuries were documented by the deputies and Megan filled out a Domestic Violence Hold Harmless form.
June Schwager was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily harm. She was released on her own recognizance.
