“I’ll kill you if you call the police” says man to his girlfriend after strangling her

20-year-old Marlon Hurt was charged with aggravated assault after he punched his girlfriend and placed a knife to her neck.

On October 15th, Memphis Police Officers Rollins and Foster were dispatched to Legacy at The Parkway Apartments at 6546 Lost Oak for an aggravated assault call. Upon arrival, contact was made with Tynccia Smith, who had sustained bruising and scratches to her neck, stated she got into an altercation with Marlon Hurt, her boyfriend.

She stated Hurt punched her in the face twice while they were arguing. When Tynccia attempted to call the police, she stated that Hurt threw her phone against the wall. Then Hurt placed his hands around her neck and strangled her causing difficulties for her to breathe. Next, he picked up a knife and placed it against her neck, and stated: “I’ll kill you if you call the police.” She convinced him she was not going to and Marlon left the scene. After further investigation, Hurt has a history of domestic violence with two reports for it on file.

Marlon Hurt was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
