Florida man charged after strangling wife for being disrespectful

44-year-old Hunter Rozen was charged with domestic assault causing bodily harm after he slapped his wife in the face and strangled her, claiming she was being disrespectful.

On November 10th, Memphis Police Officer Hoppers arrived at the Holiday Inn, located at 160 Union Avenue, in response to a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, Lauren Rozen informed officers she was in the hotel room with her husband, Hunter Rozen, and witness, Waymon Bilbrey, when a physical altercation started between her and her husband.

She advised that she was going to go to breakfast with Hunter when he told her she was being disrespectful. Per the report, she tried to leave the room but he jumped on top of her, slapped her in the face, and strangled her to prevent her from fighting back. Lauren went on to state that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Waymon Bilbrey reported that he witnessed Hunter jump on top of Lauren and swing her around. Waymon stated he pulled him off of her, allowing her to leave the room and he followed her. The officers noted Lauren had a bruise on her left cheek and shortly after found Hunter asleep in the hotel room. Through further investigation, it was found that Hunter has a history of domestic violence.

Hunter Rozen was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily harm. He was released on a $10,000 bond.
