33-year-old Christopher Scarbrough was charged with domestic assault after hitting his mother several times in the head because she canceled her bank card.
On October 26th, Memphis Police Officer Johnson arrived at 4343 Shelbourne Drive in response to a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, Officer Johnson made contact with Carolyn Scarbrough. She stated her son Christopher Scarbrough became upset with her because she decided to cancel a bank card due to money missing from her account.
She reported that Christopher hit the side of her head several times and that it was not the first time he had assaulted her. She told police her sister Martha Young came over as he was hitting her and he only stopped because she showed up. Carolyn informed Officer Johnson she then waited in her sister’s car after calling the police.
Christopher Scarbrough was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on a $2,000 bond.
