Police chase man, he leads them to woman’s house where they find 158 grams of weed & guns

24-year-old Deangelo Lomax and 48-year-old Theresa Logan were charged with possession of marijuana with intent and three counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony after Deangelo sped away from police, bringing them to Theresa’s house, exposing the drugs and guns found inside.

On October 27th, Memphis Police Officers Lemmon, Abdellatif, Lucas, Laine, and Booker responded to a drug violation call at the residence of 2005 Boyle Street. Officer Lemmon witnessed a 2009 Infiniti G37x on Frisco Avenue with tinted windows. When Officer Lemmon turned around on the vehicle, the driver, Deangelo Lomax, sped away then ran the stop sign at Frisco Avenue and Lapoloma Street.

Officers Laine and Lucas witnessed the same vehicle run another stop sign at Lapoloma Street and East Person Avenue. Officers then chased Deangelo to 2005 Boyle Avenue, where he exited his vehicle and ran inside while attempting to hide several objects in his jacket. After several minutes, the homeowner, Theresa Logan, opened the door and Deangelo exited.

He refused officers’ orders to put his hands behind his back and instead, throwing a baggie on the ground. The baggie had approximately 10 smaller baggies inside that contained marijuana. After obtaining a search warrant, officers searched the residence and found a scale, a box of baggies, marijuana residue, and a baggie of bullets. The collective weight of all the marijuana that the officers recovered was approximately 158 grams. They also discovered 3 guns under a seat cushion of the couch: a 9mm Glock P80, a RG23 22mm, and a 9mm P4 Storm Berretta. Logan stated that she was the only one on the lease for 2005 Boylestreet. Neither Lomax nor Logan laid claim to any of the property that the police found during their search.

Deangelo Lomax was arrested and charged with three counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana, evading arrest, tinted windows, violating financial law, disregarding stop signs, and no driver’s license. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $21,000 bond.

Theresa Logan was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and three counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony. She was released on a $20,000 bond.
