Shoplifter threatens to kick manager’s ass when she gets out of jail

34-year-old Jessica Black was charged with theft of property and assault after she admitted she stole items from Dollar General and threatened to kick the manager’s ass when she got out of jail.

On October 29th, Memphis Police Officers Dickerson and McCloud arrived at Dollar General on 3129 Thomas Street in response to a shoplifting call. The manager, Nikkio Williams, advised Jessica Black entered the store and walked down the laundry soap aisle while hiding merchandise in her pants. When officers made contact with Jessica, they reported a bulge in the front of her pants and she confirmed it was an item she took from the store.

After returning the item to the officers, Jessica said she also knew she had an active warrant. Officers stated when they tried to escort Jessica to the police car, she began cursing at the manager, yelling “when she gets out of jail, she will be back to kick her ass”. As the officers attempted to put her in the police car, Jessica put her foot and her fingers in the way of the door to prevent it from closing. Officer McCloud reported he tried pulling Jessica into the car but when that did not work, he punched at her hand and pushed her inside.

Jessica Black was arrested and charged with theft of property and assault. She was later released on a $2,000 bond.
