According to the affidavit, she told Spangler she was recording him, and he said he was recording her as well but got upset when he saw that she was actually recording him. He then got on top of her, held her down, and put a cigarette close to her face. He asked if she was going to give him the phone and, Trail stated that she handed the phone to him because she feared he would hit her. He then threw her phone on the ground, stepped on it twice, and picked it up to throw it again.

Spangler admitted he had been drinking and claimed the incident happened to him. When the officers asked if he threatened Trail, he almost gave an answer but stopped and asked in what way. Trail’s son heard his mother screaming and called the police. It was also noted that Trail did not have any visible bruises, but Spangler did have a domestic history.

Anthony Spangler was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $3,000 bond.
