Emily Trotter steals $159 worth of merchandise from Walmart, caught with numerous drugs

24-year-old Emily Dawn Trotter tried to steal merchandise from the Walmart on Austin Peay Highway late May 13th, 2023. When officers arrived, they spoke with a loss prevention officer, who stated he observed Trotter enter the establishment, gather multiple make-up items, and put them in her pink purse before exiting the location without paying. After she tried leaving, they detained her and recovered $159.00 worth of stolen goods. She was cited for the occurrence. She failed to appear in court on August 11th, 2023, so a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.

Then, around 2:15 a.m., on May 28th, 2023, Trotter rode as a passenger while Kyle Eubanks drove a red Toyota Tercel with fake tags on Navy Road. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop, where they informed Eubanks why they stopped him and noticed he spit something out between the car seats. Officers had him and Trotter step out of the vehicle and ask them if anything was illegal inside it, to which Eubanks replied there was not. However, Trotter stated there was “some marijuana and some bars.” Then officers searched the Toyota and discovered a red container with about a gram of marijuana, five blue Alprazolam pills, and a bag with 1.2 grams of crystal meth. Officers then detained the couple and transported them to booking, where they found a white Clonazepam pill in Trotter’s bra. She failed to appear in court on August 1st, 2023, so an additional bench warrant was issued for her arrest on April 24th, 2024. Then, after officers executed the warrant, Trotter was taken into custody and charged with theft and two counts of simple possession.
