On May 5th, 36-year-old Crystal Brittenum was caught stealing a rental vehicle near Elvis Presley Boulevard. When officers arrived, they located Brittenum walking away from a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Enterprise car rental on April 12th. Jacob Gunter, an employee of Enterprise, contacted officers and stated that Brittenum rented the car on February 23rd and was supposed to return it on February 26th but had yet to return. The value of the vehicle was $20,300. Brittenum was taken into custody for theft.
Crystal Brittenum was booked into the Shelby County Jail on May 6th, charged with theft. A judicial commissioner set her bond at $10,000.
