Kayla Wells shoots man in leg after firing multiple shots at two individuals

22-year-old Kayla Antonette Wells shot four to five times at Quakerriney Farmer and Travis Griffin near Dellwood Avenue Apartments on April 14th. When officers arrived, Griffin advised them that Wells had shot him. Then, Farmer, a friend and neighbor of Wells, said she had come over to talk to her about her boyfriend, Jumarion White, during which she “got up in her face” and started shouting at her. Farmer said she pushed her back to get her out of her face, and Griffin intervened.

Farmer stated Wells then pulled out a gun and fired a shot in the air before shooting at her and Griffin multiple times as they retreated to the apartment. One shot went through the door and hit Griffin in the leg. Farmer added that her 3-month-old infant was in her apartment unit while Wells was shooting and chasing them toward their front door. They identified Wells as the shooter in a six-person line-up, and then she was taken into custody for three counts of reckless endangerment on May 7th.
