Adelaide Walker told Memphis Police when she was adjusting the taser in her pocket a bottle of liquor must have accidentally slipped into her pocket, unbeknownst to her. She was placed under arrest, charged with theft of merchandise, and transported to booking.
On 09/04/2109 at 18:41, Memphis Police Officer Hill (13977) responded to a shoplifter call at Buster’s Liquor on S. Highland St. A witness told police that a white female, later identified as 31-year-old Adelaide Walker, of Cordova, was walking through the store with 3 bottles of liquor, and after a short time later only 2 were visible, yet she was not seen returning anything to a shelf.
After security cameras were reviewed, it was seen that Walker walked down an aisle and appears to place something in her left pants pocket. A pat-down revealed a bugle in her left pocket, from which she removed a taser – yet another bulge remained. She eventually removed everything from her pockets, including a small bottle of liquor.
