Man charged after shooting at dog in Memphis

30-year-old Jurrell Denson was charged with unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon and manufacture, deliver, sale of marijuana after a witness says he fired a shot at a dog on Knight Road.

On March 14th, Officer Ynguanzo was called to 3455 Knight Road to respond to the complaint of a resident who said Jurrell Denson had popped off a shot at a canine. According to the affidavit, while driving north on Knight Road, the officer caught sight of Denson.

The officer stated that while interviewing Jurrell he noticed a dank scent consistent with marijuana. A patdown produced a handgun, a sack containing a green leafy substance, and $1,284 cash from Jurrell’s backpack.

Jurrell Denson was arrested and charged with unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon and manufacture, deliver, sale of a controlled substance (marijuana). He was later released on his own recognizance.
