Memphis man charged for bashing daughter in the face with cell phone

61-year-old Aubrey Lee was charged with domestic assault after his daughter reported to police that a verbal argument with her father led to him grabbing and beating her in the face with his cell phone.

On March 11th, Officers King and Brown responded to a call in reference to an assault on Whitefox Drive. Angel Lee reported to officers she was involved in a verbal argument with her father Aubrey Lee. Angel proceeded by stating the argument quickly turned physical when Aubrey grabbed her and started hitting her in the face with his cell phone. Angel tried to get Aubrey off her and ended up biting him because he wouldn’t let go.

Jacqueline Walker, Angel’s mother and Aubrey’s wife, stated she witness the incident. According to the affidavit, Jacqueline said she tried to get Aubrey off Angel but was unable because he kept “beating her repeatedly”.

Officers noted that Angel had a cut by her left eye but refused any medical attention. She also completed a hold harmless form. Aubrey was taken into custody and transported to Regional One to be medically cleared.

Aubrey Lee was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on his own recognizance.
