Drunk and disorderly woman punches car on Interstate 40, per report

24-year-old Aizha Smith was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct after she was kicked out of a car for being too drunk and extra then found by police on Interstate 40 near the I-40/240 overpass.

On March 29th, officers arrived on the scene of Interstate 40 West near the I-40/240 overpass and located Aizha Smith, who was drunk and causing a scene by yelling at people. Police noted that Aizha was slurring her words and smelled strongly of alcohol. Police spoke with the occupants of a white sedan that was pulled over near Aizha. The occupants told the officers they were giving Aizha a ride when she began acting out, climbing all over the car and all over the dashboard.

The driver stated that they had pulled over to let her out. Officers witnessed Aizha hit the vehicle with her hand. Aizha was detained and transported to Memphis Mental Health Institute for detox, but her admittance was declined because she refused to cooperate and continued screaming. She was then taken into custody and transported to Regional One Hospital for medical clearance, then to booking to begin processing.

Aizha Smith was arrested and charged with public intoxication disorderly conduct. Her bond was set at $250.
