19-year-old Aureyauna Shaw was charged with domestic assault and vandalism after she was involved in an argument with her mother over having a curfew. When she was kicked out of the house, she attempted to run her mother over and hit her car.
On May 14th, Officers Guy, Binford, and Levi were all dispatched to an aggravated assault call at 2771 Northmeade Avenue near Hawkins Mill. The victim, Malkia Shaw-Hunt, claimed that her daughter, Aureyauna Shaw, rammed into her car and attempted to run her over afterward. Shaw-Hunt said that her daughter had a set time to return home, but failed to meet it. A verbal altercation occurred between the two upon her return, resulting in Shaw-Hunt kicking her daughter out of their residence.
According to the affidavit, Shaw then drove her vehicle into another one parked in the driveway. Following the crash, Shaw-Hunt exited her home, beginning another argument in their driveway. Shaw put her vehicle in reverse and drove in the direction of her mother, attempting to hit her. Shaw-Hunt avoided the attack, causing Shaw to flee the scene. The damage of the car was estimated to be $150, while Shaw-Hunt did not appear to be injured.
Upon arrival, officers noted that Shaw was not present at the scene of the crime. She would later arrive while Shaw-Hunt was being interviewed. After re-entry to the scene of the crime, officers took Shaw into custody. She was transported to Jail East for booking and processing.
Aureyauna Shaw was arrested and charged with domestic assault with bodily harm and vandalism. She was later released on her own recognizance.
