42-year-old Latisha Torry was charged with theft of property when her employer fired her and when he wouldn’t immediately pay her for the past few days, she returned to the business and helped herself to the cash register.
On April 4th, officers responded to a theft at 2831 Kimball Avenue. Upon arrival, authorities spoke with Hisham Abu-Sell who told them he recently fired Latisha Torry and she had demanded her pay immediately.
According to the affidavit, he claims she visited the store while he was not present and took $120 from the cash register. Abu-sell stated he had footage of the incident as well as a recorded telephone conversation where Torry admitted to the crime.
On April 27th, Latisha Torry was arrested and charged with theft of property. She was later released on her own recognizance.
