Man caught with 20 bags of weed, 152 ecstasy pills, and 16 Xanax pills after police observe transaction

28-year-old Jeremiah Gray was charged with evading arrest, drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana, ecstasy, and Xanax with intent when the Memphis Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit snagged him after a business transaction.

On May 12th, the Memphis Police Department Organized Crime Unit watched a drug exchange between several people in multiple vehicles. Sergeant Fox observed Jeremiah Gray interact with a silver vehicle then a white vehicle whilst toting a bag of marijuana, before finally entering a silver 2003 Dodge Intrepid with temporary tags. When detectives moved to detain Gray he fled but officers eventually took him down in the middle of the street. The bag of weed and a blunt were located in plain view in Gray’s Dodge.

During a search, Detective Gooch located twenty bags of cannabis, sixteen Xanax pills, and one hundred and fifty-two ecstasy pills. The pills were separated into multiple bottles and varieties. The “branding” on the ecstasy included Facebook, Instagram, and Superman. The total amount of cannabis confiscated was 54.7 grams. Jeremiah Gray’s car was seized after girlfriend Kayta Givand retrieved clothes, shoes, and baby items stowed in it.

Jeremiah Gray was arrested and charged with evading arrest, drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana, ecstasy, and Xanax with intent. His bond was set at $30,000.
