56-year-old Kathy Bennett was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary when she burst into another tenant’s room and thrashed her with a gold dish towel holder. Bennett is the same woman charged in 2013 for attacking a 9-year-old with her pit bull.
On May 17th, Officer Thomas was dispatched to 529 Alston Avenue in regard to a residential burglary. According to the affidavit, Kathy Bennett had exploded into a room occupied by Toni Wright and began whomping on her with a golden towel holder.
Ms. Wright sustained multiple lacerations on her arms during the attack and was transported to Methodist Central for treatment. Bennett admitted to being in Wright’s room unwanted but claimed they were “pushing each other.”
Kathy Bennett is no stranger to an assault charge, in 2013 she was also charged with aggravated assault after reports that she had taken her dog to the home of a 9-year-old boy and commanded it to attack him.
Kathy Bennett was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary. Her bond was set at $7,500.
