31-year-old Christopher Davis was charged with aggravated rape and especially aggravated kidnapping after he approached a woman walking down the road and asked if she needed a ride, exchanged phone numbers, picked her up almost two weeks later, then forced her to have sex with him at gunpoint, per report.
A victim, known by R. Culbreath on the affidavit, reported to police that on or around March 4th, 2019, she was walking to the grocery store in the area of Vollintine Avenue and North Avalon Street and encountered by a black male with a thick beard driving in a gold Saturn with black rims. She said the man called himself “Antonio” and asked her if she needed a ride. Culbreath said she declined but they exchanged phone numbers.
She then reported that on March 17th, 2019, the same man called and invited her to go out to eat. “Antonio” picked her up at her home, drove away, and took her behind Vollintine Elementary School. Culbreath said she demanded him to take her home, and at that point, he forced her out of the car and pointed a gun at her. She said he then lifted her dress and forced her to have sex with him.
According to the affidavit, Culbreath then filed a report and taken in to have a rape kit performed. On December 20th, 2019, there was a match to the DNA from the rape kit to Christopher Davis. On May 11th, Calbreath was shown a photo lineup and positively identified Christopher Davis as her rapist.
