Officers proceeded to make contact with Bernice Swanigan, who informed officers that Spencer, her cousin, was on her front porch when she arrived home. According to the affidavit, Spencer began to yell at Swanigan, using profane language and threatening to kill her and burn her house down.

After being verbally threatened, Swanigan proceeded to call police, believing Spencer’s threats to be true and being in fear for her life. After additional threats to harm Swanigan and her residence from the street, Spencer was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and domestic assault.

Michael Spencer was arrested and charged with domestic assault and disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $1,000.
